The Future Design Forum is a landmark research programme created to unite the world’s most forward-thinking design leaders in exploring the forces shaping the future.
At its heart lies The World’s Biggest Ever Survey of Executive Design Leaders — a landmark initiative capturing insights from thousands of design executives, creative directors, and innovation leaders across every major sector and geography.
Together, these perspectives will help answer one defining question:
How can design help us navigate and shape what comes next?
The Four Questions
Each contributor is asked four deceptively simple questions — the same four that have guided design strategy throughout history.
Together they form an open scaffold designed to reveal how design leaders are interpreting change, identifying opportunity, defining intent, and translating vision into action.

2. What's Possible?
3. What should we do?
4. How do we do it?
Describe the most significant shifts you’re seeing — in business, culture, technology, or society — that are influencing how design is practiced and valued today.
What forces are shaping your world? What’s changing fastest? What’s being overlooked?
Reflect on emerging opportunities for design to create new value or impact over the next decade.
What breakthroughs or frontiers excite you most? Where do you see untapped potential?
Consider the collective actions or mindset shifts the design community needs to embrace to stay relevant and lead positive change.
What priorities should design leaders rally around? What should we start, stop, or reimagine?
Share how you believe these ideas can be made real — in organisations, education, or everyday practice.
What capabilities, collaborations, or principles will be key? How do we turn vision into momentum?
From Insight to Dialogue
The survey’s findings will form the foundation for a global series of live events — The Future Design Forum — beginning with early expert engagement this autumn and leading to the publication of the inaugural Future Design Report in spring.
The journey unfolds as follows:

October–March: Global liaison and expert consultation with design leaders.

April–May: Publication of the Future Design Report and supporting content assets.

June (SXSW London): First live forum — unveiling insights and catalysing open discussion.

September (London Design Festival): Global launch moment — the start of a world tour.

Q4 onwards: Forums hosted in key design capitals worldwide — from New York and Dubai to Tokyo and Mexico City.
Each forum will act as both a stage and a studio — blending live insight-sharing, foresight, and design-led dialogue to help creative leaders sense what’s changing, understand what matters, and collaborate on what comes next.
How to get involved
We’re inviting design leaders everywhere to share their perspective — through a short open survey that takes just a few minutes to complete.
Each response adds to The World’s Biggest Ever Survey of Executive Design Leaders, shaping the insights that will power the Future Design Report and Future Design Forum events worldwide.
Spotlight Interviews
To deepen the conversation, we’ll also be spotlighting select contributors for in-depth interviews — featuring their thinking, stories, and foresight across The Design Dividend platform and at our live events.
These spotlights bring the data to life, celebrate the diversity of thought within the global design community, and create a sense of shared authorship for the future of the discipline.
